    The Volkswagen Vento last received a facelift in 2015, and since then the German carmaker has only introduced a few special edition models of the car, along with adding a new top-end variant as well. Now, the car is in much dire need for a generation upgrade, and Volkswagen is working on that, but the new-gen Vento is scheduled to arrive in 2021 which will be developed on the Indianised version of the MQB A0 platform. And this 2019 Vento facelift is being introduced just to keep things interesting until the new-gen model is launched. Mechanically, the 2019 Volkswagen Vento will remain unchanged, featuring the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine which puts out 105 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine which develops 103 bhp and 153 Nm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel unit which churns out 108 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.

    The Volkswagen T-Roc is a compact SUV that rivals the likes of the MINI Countryman and Honda HR-V in Europe. It was a much needed missing link in Volkswagen's global line-up and has been well received as an urban SUV alternative to a car like the Golf. It will come as a petrol-only model. This is in-line with a view the company has on petrol once again becoming the dominant play in the Indian market context.

    The Volkswagen T-Cross is also the automaker's first-ever small SUV and will be competing against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur among others in the segment. The T-Cross adds to the Volkswagen's growing SUV portfolio as more and more buyers are switching to smaller SUVs instead of hatchbacks or sedans. Globally, the T-Cross will be offered in two versions with the European market getting the short wheelbase version, while emerging markets will get the long wheelbase version. The Euro spec Volkswagen T-Cross is based on the MQB A0 platform and measures 4.11 metres, while the longer version measures 4.19 metres for markets like India, China, Brazil among others.
