    Lexus has recently released a new teaser video for its upcoming UX crossover that is all set to make its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show, in March 2018. The Toyota-owned premium car brand will be showcasing the production guise of the new Lexus UX 250h hybrid model and it will most likely be in its top-end F-Sport version. The teaser video gives us a glimpse of the rear portion of the car which comes with the, now quite popular, wide single unit LED taillamp.

  • Tata Gravitas

    The Gravitas will come with extended overhangs making it 63 mm longer, plus it's 80 mm taller compared to the Harrier, which helps accommodate the third row and also offer better leg and headroom, however, the wheelbase will remain the same 2741 mm, the SUV is likely to get large (possibly functional) roof rails, a redesigned rear-three-quarter, and larger quarter glass. The rear section of the SUV will also be slightly different compared to the Harrier with a larger roof-mounted spoiler, a larger rear windscreen, and new LED taillamps and a larger tailgate and a beefier rear bumper. Based on some recent spy photos of the cabin, the Tata Gravitas' cabin is also largely inspired by the Harrier, featuring a floating display in piano black housing with in-car controls and chrome bezel. The SUV also gets the same three-spoke steering wheel, and similar black and brown dual-tone interior.

    The leaked brochure from the Toyota Vellfire's showcase events reveals the luxury MPV will be powered by a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine under the hood. The motor belts out a combined output of 178 bhp and 235 Nm pf peak torque, while paired with an e-CVT unit. Power is sent to the rear wheels and there could be an AWD version too. For the Indian market, the automaker is likely to introduce the top-of-the-line version that will come with all the bells and whistles.

    2020 Mercedes-AMG GT was unveiled at the 2018 L.A. Auto Show and the new model has received styling updates along with technological and performance upgrades. The 2020 Mercedes AMG GT range will see the addition of an even more manic GTR Pro trim. It's still a two-door sports car and the Panamericana grille has also been retained but is more angular at the edges and the headlights have also been re-worked- essentially has been borrowed from the new AMG GT 4-door.

    Mahindra Thar will also come with an updated cabin featuring an all-black dashboard with new dials for the air-con system, new steering wheel, restyled central air-con vents, and possibly even a touchscreen infotainment system. It will also feature comfortable seats with improved side-bolstering and upholstery for the driver and co-driver, while the rear seats will get the side facing bench seats as before. The 2020 Thar will also get features like a brand-new instrument cluster with a MID (Multi-Information Display) unit, and a new gear lever. In terms of safety, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will feature front, ABS driver airbag, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and more as standard.

    Next gen Hyundai Creta will have the same powertrains as the Kia Seltos. So, expect a BS6 compliant range - a 1.5 petrol and 1,5 diesel, as well as the 140 bhp, 1.4-litre turbo GDI petrol with an optional 7-Speed DCT (dual clutch transmission). The three engine types will come with a 6-Speed manual gearbox. The diesel is expected with an option of a 6-Speed torque convertor automati too.

  • Aston Martin DBX

    The Aston Martin DBX will be powered by an AMG sourced 493 bhp, 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 motor. The company is also expected to offer the DBX with its in-house V12 engine sometime later and a hybrid variant with improved low-end torque is also under evaluation. The spy pictures also show a roll cage at the rear and some extra hardware on the rear seat which simulates the added weight of the rear passengers. Since it's still a prototype, production-ready elements like final taillights and the flush rear door handles are missing at the rear.

  • BMW 8 Series

    The Bavarian premium carmaker BMW has added yet another flagship sedan to its global line up with the global unveil of the all new BMW 8 Series coupe. The BMW 8-Series Coupe will make its official launch this year in November and will be manufactured at the BMW Dingolfing plant, which is also the home for the new 7-series. To put things into perspective, the new 8 series coupe holds the status of the high-ranking status within BMW’s product range, such as the BMW Z8 and also the BMW i8 electric sedan. Moreover, the new 8 series coupe is also an important product for BMW's strategy in developing new products for the future. The new BMW 8-Series coupe was developed in parallel to the BMW M8 GTE, which had already proven its potential in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Visually, the 8 Series coupe’s low-slung design, an elongated silhouette with a slim window graphic and a floating roofline shaped the rear with distinctive “double-bubble" contouring. The long wheelbase and wide track widths of the 8 series also replicates into more space on the inside for the rear passengers as well. The exterior dimensions measures up to 4,843 mm in length, 1,902 mm in width, 1,341 mm in height and 2,822 mm of wheelbase.

  • Mercedes-Benz GLB

    Mercedes-Benz revealed its compact 7 seater SUV - the GLB. The SUV will be positioned between the GLA and the GLC. Yes, there's a third row, but Mercedes-Benz is very clear in stating that the the 2 seats in the last row are optional. The all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB will celebrate its World Premiere in Utah in June and will go on sale worldwide later this year. The GLB is 4634mm long, 1834 mm wide and stands tall at 1658 mm. At 2829 millimetres the GLB has 100 mm more wheelbase than the new B-Class. The headroom in the first seat row is 1035 millimetres - a best in this segment. At 967 mm the effective legroom in the rear of the five-seater according to Mercedes-Benz is comfortable. The load compartment capacity of 560 to 1755 litres (figures for the five-seater). On request the second seat row can be longitudinally adjusted and as standard the inclination of the backrests is adjustable in several stages. This enables the load compartment to be enlarged by up to 179 litres. The new GLB is manufactured at the Aguascalientes (Mexico) plant and, for the Chinese market, in Beijing. The Mercedes-Benz GLB comes with a range of safety equipment including retractable head restraints, seat belts with belt tensioners, a side window airbag which also protects the passengers in the third seat row plus ISOFIX and TOP-Tether anchorages for suitable child seats. These can be used to attach up to four child seats in the rear. Comfort details in the third row include two drinks holders between the seats as well as two stowage compartments with a rubberised insert on the left and right in the load compartment trim, each with a USB port. The seats can be lowered so that they are flush with the load compartment floor in order to extend the load compartment.

    The next-generation Skoda Octavia has been around for a while now, and we will finally get to see the all-new model soon with the global debut scheduled on November 11, 2019. Skoda Auto has confirmed that the 11th generation Octavia will be unveiled at a standalone event in Prague, the Czech Republic. The global debut is about a month after the Volkswagen Golf Mk VIII will be officially unveiled, and shares the same underpinnings based on the Modularer Querbaukasten platform (MQB). The sedan continues to be one of the most popular selling models for the brand globally and will make its way to India too as early as 2020.

  • Volkswagen T-Cross

    The Volkswagen T-Cross is also the automaker's first-ever small SUV and will be competing against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur among others in the segment. The T-Cross adds to the Volkswagen's growing SUV portfolio as more and more buyers are switching to smaller SUVs instead of hatchbacks or sedans. Globally, the T-Cross will be offered in two versions with the European market getting the short wheelbase version, while emerging markets will get the long wheelbase version. The Euro spec Volkswagen T-Cross is based on the MQB A0 platform and measures 4.11 metres, while the longer version measures 4.19 metres for markets like India, China, Brazil among others.

    The 2020 Volkswagen Passat facelift was recently spotted undergoing testing in India, sans camouflage. First showcased at the Detroit Auto Show early this year in January, the new 2020 Passat has been caught testing in India for the first time. Expected to be launched sometime in early 2020, the updated Volkswagen Passat comes with a redesigned face, with a new grille featuring thick chrome slats, flanked by a pair of new sharper-looking wraparound headlamps with LED lights and LED daytime running lamps. The 2020 Passat also comes with a new front bumper with a wide central airdam and large air intakes on either end. The 2020 VW Passat's other exterior updates include a set of 17-inch aluminium-alloy wheels, along with LED taillights, and a more prominent Passat badging that runs the width of the trunk lid.

    The upcoming Tata H2X SUV - often referred to as the Tata Hornbill too - will be made at the company's more modern manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat. This is in line with a larger strategy that will see production eventually being split across just two platforms. "Sanand is going to be a dedicated Alfa architecture plant for the lower-end of the product portfolio. We currently also produce the Tiago and Tigor - which will undergo a mid-cycle enhancement, so there we still have some time - and then we will see how this is going to translate" said Guenter Butschek, CEO, Tata Motors while speaking to carandbike in Geneva.

    The 2020 Skoda Superb facelift is expected to launch in the second quarter of the next calendar year and the Czech carmaker is also evaluating the prospects of bringing in the plug-in hybrid variant for the Indian market. In terms of design, the 2020 Skoda Superb remains largely similar to the current model, save for the tweaked bumpers. The new bumpers have marginally added to its length, by 8 mm to 4,869 mm. However, its other dimensions remain unchanged. That said, the new Superb will be offered with some updated fitments. It gets sleek all-LED headlights along with daytime running lights and new position lights which now are stacked closer to the grille.

  • New Audi Q3

    The new Q3 comes with Audi's signature single-frame octagon grille with chrome elements and chrome surrounds. On either end, the SUV now features stylish all-LED headlamps, while the top-end version gets Matrix LED headlights with adaptive high beam. The rear end features a new pair of sleek LED taillamps with a cluster design that mimics the front DRL pattern. Globally the new-gen Audi Q3 will go on sale later this year as a 2019 model, while India is expected to get the car sometime in the second half.

    Volkswagen's assault in the SUV space will take shape in the form of the Tiguan AllSpace. Yes the Long wheelbase variant of the Tiguan will be launched in India in the first half of 2020. The Tiguan Allspace is bigger in dimensions compared to the Tiguan compact SUV and this translates into more space. Back when we broke the story about the Tiguan Allspace coming to India, we didn't have clarity on what spec was coming to the country. Now, however, all has been revealed. The Tiguan Allspace will be offered with 7 seats as standard which will see it compete with the likes of the Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and even the Mahindra Alturas G4. It will come powered by a 2-litre TSI petrol engine and there'll be no diesel on offer.

    The new Mercedes-Benz GLS will come with a massive grille with dual silver slats with the centre space for the three-pointed star logo. The bumper is also new and appears to come with large intakes on either end with an airdam and skid plate at the centre. From the sides, the SUV certainly looks bigger than ever with the additional wheel arch claddings, new sportier alloy wheels and some other minor tweaks. The rear section has also been updated and we now get a new spoiler, a revised tailgate, and an updated rear bumper.

It can go from 0-100 kmph in under 3.5 seconds and Porsche says that the Taycan is not just sporty, but also practical. With Porsche India set to launch the Taycan somewhere in the middle of 2020, we expect it to be priced at well over Rs. 1 crore.

  • New Honda Jazz

    The 4th Generation Honda Jazz will make its debut at Tokyo of course, but what we will be watching out for are cues to the next generation of its sibling - the Honda City. That is a strong point to consider given that the current City could do with more, better rear passenger room with a wider seat, and better legroom too. This is an indication that practicality alone will not be the car's cornerstone, and hopefully it will also get a sporty driver dynamic.

  • Citroen C5 Aircross

    The Citroen C5 Aircross is all set to hit the Indian markets soon and it’ll enter a very busy compact SUV segment. The company is all set to bring the car to India by 2020. The SUV will be produced at the company's Hosur-based facility in Tamil Nadu with about 95 per cent of local content going in. The new Citroen C5 Aircross was unveiled last year globally. A part on the new-generation A-Class range, the new sedan version is positioned below the Mercedes-Benz CLA, is currently the most affordable three-pointed star sedan globally. And the car is likely to do the same in India. The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan will be launched in India later this year and possibly replace the A-Class hatchback as the most affordable Mercedes-Benz model in India.

    Hyundai’s Alto rivalling Eon hatchback is up for an upgrade. Launched in India in October 2011, the small hatchback could not fetch desirable numbers as expected. While the fluidic design language caught attention, the hatchback was considered to be a bit overpriced. Currently the Eon line-up is available with petrol and LPG fuel options missing out on the diesel variants.

    The Next-Generation Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV have leaked in Brazil. These are the first images of the upcoming third-gen EcoSport and the SUV has gone through some major cosmetic updates and it is also expected to get new, more modern features and equipment, along with updated powertrain options. The new-gen Ford EcoSport is expected to make its global debut in late 2020 or early 2021.

    Datsun showcased the Go Cross subcompact SUV in India at the 2016 Auto Expo. The GO-Cross will initiate Datsun to the growing crossover segment and will also be its flagship model. In fact, from what we know, it'll be under 4 metres and we don't think that the car will see a seven seat configuration like on the GO+ MPV. While the 1.2-litre petrol unit is the same as the one that does duty on the GO hatchback and GO+ MPV, the 1.5-litre dCi diesel will be borrowed from the Nissan Micra.
