About Skoda Kodiaq
In a technical briefing session today, Skoda India has announced that the Kodiaq SUV will be launched in the last quarter of 2017. The Skoda dealerships across the country have started accepting booking for the Kodiaq SUV. It is Skoda's first seven-seater SUV which is going to take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and Volkswagen Tiguan (though it's a 5-seater). The expected price of Skoda Kodiaq SUV could range between Rs. 25-30 lakh.
Skoda Kodiaq Preview
Named after the Kodiak bear found in Kodiak archipelago in south-west Alaska, Skoda Kodiaq is going to be the first 7-seater model from the stables of Czech auto giant wherein the third row seats are optional. The SUV is built on Volkswagen’s versatile MQB platform that also underpins Octavia and Superb sedans. Under the hood, the SUV is going to have two powertrains in 5 different iterations. The Kodiaq will come with a 7-Speed DSG gearbox and there will be no manual transmission on offer. The SUV also gets an optional Dynamic Chassis Control which enables the SUV to switch between several modes on its engines, steering, throttle response transmission and suspension. Akin to other Skoda models, Kodiaq gets a boot capacity of 720 litres that can further be expanded to 2,065 litres. The SUV is quite rich in terms of technical aides and packs in plethora of equipment including Skoda Connect Touchscreen Infotainment system with Google Earth, WiFi, Apple CarPlay, 360-degree cameras, emergency systems among several others.
