2017 Audi R8 V10 Spyder
Audi has revealed the R8 convertible - the R8 Spyder and it will make its public debut at the New York Motor Show
In its second generation the R8 Spyder features the same height and wheelbase as its predecessor, but it is both wider and shorter
The R8 Spyder gets the same LED headlights with Audi laser light as in the coupe
The R8 Spyder weighs in at 1720kg which is 125kg more than the coupé. The weight gain is despite its carbon-fibre engine cover and a fuel tank that holds three litres less.
Under the hood of the R8 Spyder is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10, rated at 540 horsepower
The R8 Spyder can go from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 318km/h
The cabin of the R8 Spyder is similar to the Coupe and the switches and controls are a mix of classic and futuristic
Audi's Virtual Cockpit, a digital gauge cluster that launched in the TT and now finds its way even in the A4 in India makes its way into the R8 Spyder
Its gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that channels the power to all four wheels. The Quattro all-wheel-drive system can send as much as 100 percent to the front or the rear axle, although the default setup is rear-biased.
The V10 churns out a vicious bellow and you have to wind down your windows to listen to it
The Audi R8 Spyder uses the naturally aspirated engine uses a dual injection system. So it essentially has both the FSI and MPI technologies on board
