It was back in December 2016, that Skoda unveiled the Octavia vRS internationally and now it's finally come to India. The facelift of the Octavia vRS will be launched in India by the end of August but the company has already let us on about the features and the specifications of the car. Deliveries will commence in September. The overall design is similar to that of the Octavia sedan which is why you see a slightly revised with a wider grille and air intakes along with new LED headlamps and a slightly tweaked bumper as well. The headlamps come with adaptive front lighting system (AFS). The rear also sees changes in the form of black diffuser and a spoiler at the rear.
The license plate is LED illuminated along with the tail lamps as well. The 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS also gets refreshed interiors which include vRS sport seats in leather/fabric combination. The steering wheel is multi-functional and has paddleshifts as well. The interior can be bathed in ambient lighting as well. There are a few clever touches in the form of illuminated door-handle recesses, umbrella holder under driver seat, LED torch in the boot among others.

The new Skoda Octavia vRS also gets a revised suspension setup and a wider track at the rear. The dynamic chassis control or the DCC is a standard fitment and this gives the car the agility it needs. The Skoda Octavia vRS gets a 2.0-litre TSI motor, which produces 230bhp and peak torque of 350Nm. The 0-100 kmph mark is breached in 6.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 kmph.
The other option is the 2.0-litre TDI engine which produces 184bhp and peak torque of 380Nm. It can hit a maximum speed of 232 kmph and takes 7.9 seconds to reach 100 kmph from standstill. The TDI model can be specified with a 4-wheel drive system as well. Both the engine variants come with a 6-speed manual transmission or with a 6-speed DSG unit as well. The car also gets a variety of driver assistance systems and the latest generation of the Skoda infotainment systems.
Till date, Skoda has sold over 200,000 models of the Octavia RS and vRS variants of which 100,000 variants were of the 2013 variant itself. India too has seen the vRS variant and we hope to see it giving the Octavia sales a boost.
