Maruti Suzuki has officially started accepting bookings for the upcoming XL6 premium MPV for an amount of ₹ 11,000. The company has also started taking online bookings for the XL6 and buyers can book it at Maruti Nexa's official website or through the Nexa app. The Maruti XL6 is a crossover MPV based on the Ertiga and it is underpinned by the same Heartect platform. That said, it gets several cosmetic updates differentiating it from the Ertiga. Updates include a heavily revised front end sporting new grille, several crossover-inspired styling bits along with bold claddings, larger air dam and skid plates at both ends while retaining the premium cues of the new-gen Ertiga.

It also features a new hexagonal grille with a centre chrome slat, which is now flanked by a pair of new sharper-looking headlamps that appears to come with LED lights and LED DRLs. The exterior also features extra-chunky wheel arch cladding, silver side skirts and bolder roof rails which add to the bold design statement.
Commenting on the occasion Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, "At Maruti Suzuki, we have always focused on bringing out products that match the customers' demand. The XL6 is an exclusive 6-seater premium MPV, designed to meet the aspirations of evolved and discerning NEXA customers. With XL6, we bring NEXA's first premium MPV, which is high on comfort and convenience along with an array of safety features. The XL6 will further strengthen our NEXA products portfolio and provide our customers with a range of products from hatchbacks, Sedan, SUV and now a premium MPV at NEXA. We hope our customers enjoy the experience of our latest offering."
On the inside, one of the key differentiators from the Ertiga is the seven-seating layout with captain seats in the middle row. Other features on the inside remain identical to the Ertiga which include the SmartPlay Studio system with smartphone connectivity, cruise control and climate control among others.
The new Maruti Suzuki XL6 is likely to share its powertrains with the Ertiga, featuring the new BS6 compliant 1.5-litre K15 petrol motor with the company's SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology, and the new 1.5-litre diesel motor. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, along with an optional 4-speed automatic torque converter for the petrol model.
