Launched in 2015, the Mahindra Mojo has turned out to be quite the viable option for entry-level tourers and the motorcycle is capable of gobbling up miles and miles in comfort. With the bike competing its first year of sales in the country this month, Mahindra Two Wheelers has introduced the Mojo Tourer Edition priced at ₹ 1.88,850 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The fully loaded tourer edition comes with pre-installed accessories that offer a host of functionality over long distance rides.
In fact, in the sea of cosmetic special/limited editions flooding the market, the Tourer Edition actually offers functional accessories with the list including magnetic tank bag that comes equipped with 4 rare earth magnets to provide superior grip along with a 13-litre storage capacity. You also get saddle bag and carrier made of tough denier fabric with triple stitching on stress points for increased durability and offers a combined storage space of 38-litres.
Furthermore, you get a fully adjustable 360-degree rotation mobile holder with a silicon band that keeps the phone in place even at high speeds. A front guard has been added on the Mahindra Mojo Tourer Edition made from high strength, corrosion-resistant material that protects the fuel tank, radiator guard and engine. Matte black powder coated pannier mounts have also been added along with 20W Mojo for lamps flanked on either side of the headlamp.
Mahindra says the accessories have been selected keeping in mind the functional needs of a tourer. In addition, the bikemaker is also offering a tourer jacket for enhanced rider safety as part of the introductory benefit. Mr. Naveen Malhotra, Sr. General Manager – Sales, Marketing & Product Planning, Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. said, “The emerging trend among the youth is to accessorize their bikes, keeping this in mind, we are excited to introduce the MOJO Tourer Edition. It is aimed at those who have a passion for touring and for whom exploring new terrain is a way of life. The Mojo Tourer Edition is the perfect companion for every biker who is passionate about touring.”
Compared to the standard version that is priced at ₹ 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Mojo Tourer Edition is priced at a significant premium. While the special edition is expected to encourage more tourers to opt for the Mojo, the company is yet to introduce the ABS equipped version that was promised at the time of launch last year. Moreover, there were also reports of lower variant with carburetor, single exhaust and lesser features also making it to the market with a lower price tag, but we suspect that model is still some time away.
