Hyundai Verna With The 1.4-litre Petrol Engine Launched; Prices Start At ₹ 7.79 Lakh

The 1.4-litre Hyundai Verna will be available in two variants and is two lakh cheaper than the 1.6-litre version. The car will take on the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Volkswagen Vento.

While we told you just yesterday that Hyundai is all set to launch the 1.4-litre engine in the new generation of the Verna and well, it finally has. The Verna with the 1.4-litre engine has been launched in two variants E and EX and priced at ₹ 7.79 lakh and ₹ 9.09 lakh respectively. The new-gen Verna was launched in August 2017 and since then has been raking in sales for the company. Till date it has received over 30,000 bookings and 2,00,000 enquiries in India and over 10,500 Units of export order from global markets.

Commenting on the new engine introduction Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Director-Sales & Marketing, HMIL said, "The Next Gen VERNA is a super sedan and has established its supremacy in the market since its launch in August 2017. The Verna till now was only available with the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel powertrains and now with the 1.4-litre petrol, the Verna has become more accessible. It is close to ₹ 2 lakh cheaper than the 1.6-litre petrol version and will prove to be a value for money proposition. The 1.4 L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine is offered with an output of 99 bhp and 132 Nm of torque. The folks at Hyundai say that the powertrain is now more fuel efficient and stands at 19.1 kmpl which is an improvement of 8 per cent from before. The 1.4-litre engine will be offered with the 6-Speed manual transmission only.
