The all-new BMW X7 SUV and the 7 Series facelift have been launched in India today and we have all the highlights from the launch event here. While the X7 is the company's all-new flagship SUV, the 2019 BMW 7 Series has received a major update right from design and styling to features and powertrains. India, however, we will get only the long-wheelbase version of the sedan. We have driven both the models and have told you all about them in detail, including our expectations with regards to the pricing of the new BMW X7 and the 2019 BMW 7 Series Sedan, which have been pretty much spot on. While the BMW X7 come in only two options - xDrive30d DPE Signature and xDrive40i, both priced at Rs. 98.90 lakh, the 7 Series comes in 6 variants, priced from Rs. 1.22 crore to Rs. 2.42 Crore (ex-showroom, India).
Both the BMW X7 SUV and the BMW 7 Series sedan are based on the same CLAR architecture and look every bit the flagship models that you'd expect them to be. BMW India will be retailing the X7 xDrive 40i with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol motor tuned for 335 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque. There will also the top-of-the-line X7 xDrive M50d with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel that produces 394 bhp and 760 Nm of peak torque. Both engines options will come paired with the 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that will send power to all four wheels.
The India-spec BMW 7 Series, on the other hand, will be offered in the 740 Li and the 730 Ld trims. While the former comes with a 3.0-litre, in-line six-cylinder engine which produces 276 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque, the 730d also uses an in-line six engine that is tuned to 260 bhp and has 620 Nm of torque. The 740 Li will be coupled with an electric motor which will add 111 horses more taking the combined power output to 384 bhp. The gearbox is the same across the range - an 8-Speed Steptronic.
