Auto Expo 2020: Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Launched In India; Priced At ₹ 2.42 Crore

German auto giant Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new performance model is the fastest four-door production car on sale in India and is priced at ₹ 2.42 Crore (ex-showroom). It is also the fastest production car at the Auto Expo this time. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe boasts of some major credentials with 0-100 kmph coming up in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 315 kmph. The model competes against a host of offerings including the Porsche Panamera Turbo and the Aston Martin Rapide S.

Speaking on the launch, Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, says, "The exciting and innovative line-up of products on display underlines our commitment towards our customers. Power on the Mercedes AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe comes from the 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that develops 429 bhp and a whopping 900 Nm of peak torque. The car gets a 9-speed automatic transmission with the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system sending power to all four wheels. Inside, the AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe gets a twin 12.3-inch display for the instrument console and the infotainment system. The car also comes with a newly designed steering wheel, centre console with a touchpad.

The Mercedes AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe shares its underpinnings with the current-generation E-Class, while following the design philosophy of sensual purity, according to the company. The car boasts of the imposing Pan-Americana grille up front and a long coupe roofline extending to the rear.

Apart from the GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe, Mercedes-Benz also launched V-Class Marco Polo edition and the AMG A 35 at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Marco Polo is priced from ₹ 1.38 crore onwards, while the AMG A 35 is expected to be priced at ₹ 43 lakh.
