Unveiled at EICMA last year, Hero MotoCorp have showcased the new XPulse concept motorcycle at the Auto Expo 2018. The Hero XPulse off-roader makes its India debut at the biennial event and previews the brand's upcoming adventure motorcycle. The new XPulse is a highly awaited model and will be re-opening the two-wheeler maker's innings in the segment. The model can also be seen a spiritual successor to the erstwhile Hero Impulse and will go on sale later this year.
Hero has also announced that the new XPulse will get a ground clearance of 220 mm. The bike will ride on spoke wheels with a 21-inch tyre at the front and an 18-inch tyre at the rear. The adventure tourer will also get a full LED headlamp setup, luggage rack, knuckle guards, and dual disc brakes. The Hero XPulse will also come with an all-digital instrument console and will also get a smartphone connectivity to offer turn-by-turn navigation.
The production-spec Hero XPulse is expected to be launched around the June-July period this year. That's also when Hero says it will reveal the specifications, features and other details on the motorcycle. Pricing is yet to be finalised, but is expected to be competitive and in the vicinity of ₹ 1-1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). This will certainly keep the prices competitive on the off-roader, which will be competing against the more expensive and powerful Royal Enfield Himalayan.
