About New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
Though a facelift of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV arrived in the country just last year, the carmaker is now gearing up to bring in the next-generation of the SUV too. The 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will get the company's Dynamic Shield front fascia and is most likely to ride on the same platform as the L200/ Triton. Also, it now looks more contemporary, thanks to the rounded shape.
New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Preview
Mitsubishi’s only product for the Indian market, Pajero SUV will soon be rolled out in a new avatar donning exterior revamps, interior tweaks and a new automatic gearbox paired to the mighty diesel engine. Prominent changes are made to the exteriors donning a new front profile, heavily tweaked rear and an altered side profile. Interiors feature a monotone colour scheme with brief silver finish around centre console and door pads. Safety features expected to be incorporated in the SUV are autonomous braking, descent control, blind spot monitoring etc. Mitsubishi will bring Pajero via CKD route to the Indian market and assembling will be done locally at Hindustan Motors’ manufacturing unit located in Chennai.
Pajero Sport Exteriors
The new generation Pajero Sport will feature Mitsubishi’s new design language. Mitsubishi has used ample chrome on the exteriors to render a plush look. Up front the redesigned head lamp cluster features lean units and a thin LED daytime running light strip. The front upper grille gets two chrome slats and air intakes are placed just beneath the upper grille. Fog lamps are positioned at the extreme corners of the lower bumper. Window frame on the side gets tapered towards the end and a thin chrome strip runs along the bottom of the window line. A and B pillars are finished in black. Wheel arches are flared but there is an awkward gap between the arches and wheels. Tyres are massive and get multi-spoke alloy rims. Rear is narrow; the most prominent part of the rear is the GR-HEV concept afflated tail lamps, although it doesn’t appear appealing. The spare wheel mounted under the rear bumper is easily visible. Moreover, the rear is garnished with a thick chrome band on the boot-lid and there is a silver under-spoiler placed at the bottom.
Pajero Sport Interiors
Interiors are enveloped in a single colour theme with chrome accents and silver splashes around the cabin. Seats will be upholstered with premium leather and dashboard will feature a cascading centre console with two integrated cup holders placed close to front seats. These apart, the cabin is likely to get a touchscreen infotainment system, an electronic hand-brake, a four-spoke multifunction, steering wheel, a 360 degree camera and seven airbags.
