Mahindra Marazzo Preview

The Mahindra Marazzo has been launched in India and the new MPV holds a lot of promise with its competitive price tag and host of features on offer. The Marazzo is the largest passenger vehicle to come from Mahindra and has been designed to offer maximum comfort to its occupants over long journeys. The all-new offering was in development for a while now with collaborative efforts from Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) and the Mahindra North American Technical Center (MNATC) that co-engineered the product. The design too is a result of the Mahindra Design Studio in Mumbai and Italian design house Pininfarina that played a vital role in how the new Marazzo has shaped up.

Mahindra Marazzo Prices

The Mahindra Marazzo has been launched with introductory pricing starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh. The Marazzo is offered in four variants - M2, M4, M6 and M8. While the M2 is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh, the Marazzo M4 is priced at Rs. 10.95 lakh, while the M6 trim costs Rs. 12.4 lakh. The range-topping Mahindra Marazzo M8 has been priced at Rs. 13.90 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India).

Mahindra Marazzo Design

The Marazzo is inspired by the shark in its design and is in fact, the second model from the automaker's stable to take influence from the animal kingdom. Previously, the XUV500's design was inspired by the cheetah. Influences of the shark theme design can be seen on the front teeth-like grille of the model that gets finished in chrome, while the taillight cluster has been inspired from the shark's tail. The shark fin antenna fits quite apt with the Marazzo's exterior design theme. Other interesting bits include the 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, large glasshouse area and a blacked-out D-pillar that gives a floating roof-like impression on the Marazzo MPV.

Mahindra Marazzo Engine Specifications & Transmission

The Mahindra Marazzo is based on a completely new engine and platform and is underpinned by a ladder-on-frame architecture with a transverse-mounted engine that sends power to the front wheels. Mahindra says the unique combination is intended to offer the best of both worlds on the passenger vehicle, which makes for a sturdy built while keeping the kerb weight identical to that of a monocoque offering.

Power on the Mahindra Marazzo comes from the newly developed 1.5-litre four-cylinder, diesel engine that is tuned to produce 121 bhp at 3500 rpm and 300 Nm of peak torque available between 1750-2500 rpm. The engine is paired with only a 6-speed transmission.

Mahindra Marazzo Interior

The Mahindra Marazzo can be had in 7- or 8-seater options and gets a gloss black finished dashboard in a beige themed cabin. The MPV gets cruise control, auto climate control and a multi-functional wheel. A colour changing dual-pod instrument cluster is available with a massive MID unit for all the vital information. The Marazzo gets roof-mounted air-con vents, which promises more effective cooling across the cabin.

Mahindra Marazzo Safety & Security

The Mahindra Marazzo is loaded with safety features across most variants. The MPV comes with dual front airbags and ABS with EBD and Brake Assist as standard across all four trims. The model also gets ISOFIX child seat mount, child safety lock on rear doors, impact and speed sensing auto door lock, engine immobiliser, and driver seatbelt reminder as part of the standard kit. The top variants come with car theft alarm, front and rear fog lamps, rear parking sensors, rear defogger with auto timer and the Emergency Call function that will automatically connect you to the emergency services if the airbags are deployed.

Mahindra Marazzo Features

Mahindra has loaded the Marazzo MPV with features across most variants. The all-new offering comes with projector lens headlamps with cornering function, LED fog lamps and LED DRLs, while you also get follow-me-home function, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, entry assist lamps and more. You also get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Digisense and navigation. The audio system comes with Bluetooth telephony, AUX and USB connectivity. The system can also take Voice Commands and also gets a driver information system. The model also comes with four speakers and two tweeters, and onboard navigation.

Mahindra Marazzo Dimension

The Mahindra Marazzo measures 4585 mm in length, 1866 mm in width and 1774 mm in height. That's about the same length as the XUV500, but the design has been optimised for a compact appearance. The wheelbase stands at 2760 mm on the MPV, while the fuel tank capacity is 45 litres. The Marazzo comes with 190 litres of cargo space which can be expanded to 680 litres with the third row folded and can be further expanded to a massive 1055 litres with the second-row seats collapsed.

Mahindra Marazzo Performance & Mileage

Performance on the Mahindra Marazzo is adequate for a multi-seater and the car gets going from over 1700 rpm. The handling and high-speed stability are very good and the compact steering wheel does justice to the size of the car. The MPV gets an Eco mode to achieve high fuel efficiency and mileage figure on the Mahindra Marazzo is an ARAI certified 17.6 kmpl.

Mahindra Marazzo Comfort

The beige and black themed cabin on the Mahindra Marazzo looks very upmarket with the leatherette upholstered seats. The MPV's cabin is spruced up with creature comforts including power windows, multiple power outlets, cool glovebox, sunglass holder, keyless entry and more. The Marazzo also comes with sunshade for the second-row windows to block the UV rays out and bring some privacy to the cabin. The cabin gets cup holders in all three rows for added convenience.

Mahindra Marazzo Wheels & Tyres

The base trims on the Mahindra Marazzo use 216/65 16-inch radial tyres wrapped on alloy wheels, whereas the range-topping Marazzo M8 variant uses 215/60 17-inch tubeless radial tyres. The minimum turning radius for the MPV stands at 5.25 metres.

Mahindra Marazzo Competitors

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV competes against a host of offerings in the MPV segment including the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Renault Lodgy, Toyota Innova Crysta and the likes. Prices on the Marazzo, however, are competitive, and certainly, stands as a more value-friendly option in the segment.

Mahindra Marazzo First Drive Review

For those of you following our updates, on the Mahindra Marazzo MPV, we've shared almost all the details; but of course, you were eagerly waiting for the review; and we were equally eager to drive it, because this time around the company has gone to the depths of the ocean, to find inspiration, for its new MPV; and one that has a lot riding on it, ... Awesome drive excellent air conditioning

Value for money, fall in love when I took test drive. All rows have very good leg room & very comfortable drive.

Experimental car

It's not new thing for Mahindra to do experiment on customer in this segment, first they came up with box shape xylo, then quanto, then quanto modified version nuvosports, then a design ripoff of jeep tuv and making it uglier with tuv 300+. i can see marazzo as another verito atm. they are changing product line so fast like lee eco phones eventually that company failed in India just like i can see mahindra failing in this segment all i can say to Mahindra is limit your products so your dealers, customer won't suffer. combine all your cars into one, make it affordable and efficient. then see it's you and customer ?? just like legendary Scorpio

Undoubtedly great value for money

This is actually a good engineering product from Mahindra which is known for rugged and macho products like Scorpio, Bolero , Thar & then XUV 500 But the ruggedness and the muscle came along with bits of roughness & harshness which all M&M vehicles are associated with. But Marazzo seems thoroughly engineered product with new standards for refinement, ease of use and comfort which was missing in M&M SUVs. Marazzo is most refined and elegant product from them. it’s sophisticated and feels upmarket and has the appeal to be a very good family car. The price Rs 9.99 lakh to 13.90 lakh has the pull to attract buyers from both upper & lower end of MPV market. After a test drive & close look it seems real good and undoubtedly great value for money. Like TATA now M&M has hit the reset button with the "Shark".

Smooth silent, right branding for this vehicle

Actually when you sat on any row in the vehicle you felt very comfortable & spacious. Very nice interiors, never seen before in any mahindra vehicle.
