Mahindra e2oPlus Preview

Mahindra e20 two-door version was phased out days after the e20Plus was launched, however Mahindra continues to export the two-door hatchback to the overseas market. The four door version christened ‘e20Plus’, packs a bunch of in-cabin tech, the most significant features inside are the GPS enabled navigation system, touch-screen monitor, on-board computer that warns about car’s driving range. The revive feature gives an additional ange of 7 to 10 kms in case the battery power slips below 10%. The feature can either be activated via e20Plus app on your smart phone or by touch of a button. The mobile app also hosts other features like switching on/off the car's air conditioning and even locking/unlocking the car. Available at a price point of Rs 5.46 lakh to Rs 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), e20Plus comes in three variants. The electric hatchback takes 9 hours for one full charge, similar to the now defunct e20 two-door version. Mahindra launched a slew of electric models in India in 2016 including the e-Verito, e-Supro and the 4-door e2oPlus hatchback. Boasting large dimensions, the e20Plus measures 3590 mm long and the wheelbase is up by 300 mm at 2258mm, providing comfortable room inside. The hatchback uses the same electric motor from the defunct e20 model that offers 110kms of range, save for the range-topping P8 variant that makes 40bhp of power and 91Nm of torque. It also comes with a 210ah-lithium-ion battery that adds a few kms to the range, adding up to 140km while restricting the top-speed to 85km/h. An automatic transmission is equipped in the hatchback for directing power and it gets a choice between boost and sport mode.

DO NOT BUY E2O PLUS - Too Too too many issues and pro!

Please don’t make the mistake of buying the 4-Door E2O Plus. I had the earlier 2-door E2O as well and that was super. However, the 4-door E2O Plus is the worst decision you could make. The car is fine but the music and the radio system is SHIT! 1. You start listening to the radio and the channels change by themselves... every minute! Imagine listening to a song on one channel in the car radio and in 10 seconds the channel changes and just keeps scrambling. You go back to the channel again, but in another 10 seconds, it changes again! Happens every few seconds... forget about listening to the radio in peace while driving. 2. The music/radio system is somehow (and for reason’s unknown to anyone) connected to the horn. So while listening to the radio, if you happen to horn, then it changes and starts playing the music from the USB and vice versa! No peace there either, can’t horn without disturbing the music flow. 3. The touch screen for the music and all other things are shit as well. Soooo difficult to choose what you want to choose, whether channel, whether phone number, whether connecting Bluetooth etc. The E2O team is hell bent on making the consumer’s life difficult. 4. Forget about connecting your Bluetooth or wifi to the car... doesn’t happen. Just doesn’t. Even their own customer rep couldn’t do it when I showed the problem to him! 5. Forget about talking to anyone on the car speaker phone because no one on the other end can hear you! The volume is abnormally low. This was tested by their customer rep and even he was like yes ma’am I can’t hear anything. All these problems have been there from the day I bought the car and have sent emails, Whatsapp messages, video proofs etc to the E2O team... but without any avail. Apparently they can’t do anything because the music/radio system is screwed for all E2O Plus cars that have been produced and sold! So there, that’s it! And yes, if you think all this is distracting while driving... you are right! I actually had a small accident when I got startled when the radio channel changed by itself. Paying more than 8 lacs for a car that doesn’t even get its basics right... UNACCEPTABLE. Too too too many issues... Do yourself a favour, buy any other car, don’t buy the E2O Plus. (I’ve got several video proof and mails to prove everything I’m talking about)

Not recommended for cardiac patients.

Bought this dumping box with high end variant P8 for a cost price equivalent to a good sedan. Purchased it in November '17. Till date it has gone in workshop more than I have happily driven. Even this day it's still resting in workshop since 11th. I would say after sales service of this company is than any in market. Technical staff are not versed with products know how. I would suggest people to wait for more competitors to arrive in market and then buy better option than in Mahindra.

solar panel equipped car

sir one suggestion. if we fit solar panels on front and top of the e.car ,then the mailage may be increased considerably and the temperature in side the car may also be reduced due to conversion of solar energy into charging of the e.car. the power consumption by the Air cooler also be reduced by this modification. please look into this suggestion. thank you, s.suryanarayana,
