Honda HR-V Latest Updates

The Honda HR-V is set to become the next big launch from Honda Cars India. Honda has already confirmed the HR-V for the Indian market, and the SUV is set represents the Japanese carmaker is the widely popular compact SUV space. In India, the upcoming Honda HR-V compact SUV will go up against the likes of Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, and even the Jeep Compass and Kia Seltos. Honda Cars India has already started testing the HR-V SUV in India, and we expect it to arrive sometime in the second half of 2020.

Globally, Honda HR-V is already on sale in several markets and visually, the SUV borrows its cues from the company flagship SUV, CR-V. While the India-bound HR-V is likely to come with few styling and cosmetic changes, in terms of design and dimensions, the SUV is expected to be similar to the global-spec model. The Honda HR-V sold in the international markets is 4,335 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,605 mm in height.

While the powertrain options for the India-spec model is yet to be announced, the new Honda HR-V could come with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, under the hood, which currently powers the Honda City. Given the advent of the upcoming emission norms, we aren't sure if Honda will equip the HR-V with a BS6 compliant diesel engine or not. The upcoming Honda HR-V is likely to arrive as a CKD (completely knocked-down) model.
