DSK Benelli Leoncino Preview

Unveiled at EICMA in 2015, the Benelli Leoncino will be finally making its way to India next year. The scrambler style motorcycle has been in the pipeline for a while now and will finally arrive in its road-ready avatar. The Leoncino is a good looking motorcycle and will be quite affordable too compared to other and more premium Scrambler offerings on sale. The bike uses an all-new Trellis frame while power comes from a 500 cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 47 bhp and 45 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Leoncino uses long travel USD forks up front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking performance includes dual front discs and a single disc at the rear with ABS as standard. The Benelli Leoncino is being positioned as a lifestyle motorcycle and prices are expected to start around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Benelli Leoncino is a scrambler-style concept showcased at the 2015 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. Looks are typical scrambler, as seems to be the rage across the world these days. The Leoncino is a similar exercise - retro looks combined with modern technology. The concept Leoncino comes kitted out with a LED headlight, knobby tyres and a 500cc parallel twin engine.

The Benelli Leoncino is expected to hit production next year and DSK Motowheels, which markets and sells Benelli bikes in India, has confirmed that the Leoncino will be launched in India in late 2016. The 500cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine produces 47bhp power and 45Nm of torque. The Leoncino's engine is mounted on a streel trellis frame with wire-spoke wheels - 19-inch at the front and a 17-inch at the rear.
