BMW X5

BMW X5 has received a new petrol variant to the line-up dubbed-xDrive 35i, powered by the high capacity 3.0 litre, in-line, six cylinder engine making 302bhp of top power and 400Nm of peak torque between 1200rpm to 5000rpm. For transmitting power, it uses an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. In terms of looks, the petrol variant is similar to the diesel trims.

The BMW X5 is an ideal luxury SUV that brings utmost comfort and pleasure with its rich interior along with its ability to perform well in almost all driving conditions. The xDrive 30d and xDrive 35i are available variants, which are powered with a six-cylinder in-line diesel engine. These power-units come mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission gearbox that directs power to all four wheels.

The aggressively styled SUV features pulled back LED headlamps with LED DRLs, BMW’s signature kidney-shaped grille, round LED fog lamps, silver skid plate under the bumper and petite air inlets on front apron. Side profile features sharp character lines, flared wheel arches and chrome work around the window frame. The black cladding all around the SUV adds to the sporty flair. Rear gets the wrap-around tail lamps, integrated spoiler and a large body coloured bumper.

Cabin offers generous space to the occupants and gets multiple storage points as well. The dashboard is voguish, designed in tandem with rest of the BMW vehicles. Styling bits like the use of wood trims inside the cabin look plush. Besides, the SUV gets a host of technical aides and premium leather upholstery. 

BMW X5 Engine Specifications & Transmission

Power is derived from the 3.0 litre, six cylinder, diesel engine developing 254bhp along with 560Nm, linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission.  The engine takes 6.9 seconds to reach 100km/h mark from nil and goes on to achieve top speed of 230km/h.

The diesel engine is claimed to offer ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 15.97km/l.
