BMW X1 Preview

The 2020 BMW X1 facelift has been launched in India, priced at Rs 35.90 lakh to Rs 42.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This is the first mid-life facelift for BMW's entry-level SUV in India, and the car comes with several cosmetic changes along with BS6 compliant 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. With rivals Audi and Mercedes-Benz gearing up to launch the Q3 facelift and the new-gen GLA in India later this year, BMW India has certainly gained a good head start. The SUV has been launched in three variants SportX, xLine and M Sport.

The BMW X1 has established and owned the dominant position in the premium compact sports activity vehicle (SAV) segment. This is also the trend worldwide - it reflects the global need the X1 serves. The X1 fits in perfectly with the attitude and lifestyle of modern ambitious future leaders who are redefining success - personally and professionally. They don't hold back and live in the present, enjoying the thrill of success, celebrating each moment of their performance, here and now. They are fearless in playing the big game. The X1 is their ally in this thrilling journey of smashing status quo and setting new benchmarks. With the new 2020 BMW X1, we welcome them into the BMW world to experience the thrill of the ultimate driving machine which will add more thrill to their lives.

2020 BMW X1 now comes with a heavily updated face, featuring a bigger, more prominent kidney grilles with vertical slats, offering that 3D effect. The headlamps too have been updated and now come with a new cluster and new LED daytime running lamps. Also, the front bumper is new that is a bit more aggressive and come with new, large black inserts on either end, which looks a bit out of place. The SUV's profile largely remains unchanged, but we do get a new set of wheels and black underbody cladding with faux silver skid plates, while at the rear the luxury compact SUV features a set of revised taillamps. The M Sport variant, of course, comes with a different body kit with the all-black grille, sportier bumper with different air intake. The BMW M Sport also comes with body colour cladding and side skirts instead of black ones seen on other variants.

The cabin too comes with its fair share of updates while the overall design remains similar, the SUV now gets a new 8.8-inch touchscreen iDrive infotainment system and it feels much more premium and it offers you a lot more in terms of connectivity, which only gets Apple CarPlay. The SUV now also gets a new panoramic sunroof. Other features include - Ambient Lighting with six dimmable designs, a micro-activated carbon particulate filter that ensures the cabin has clean and fresh air. The new BMW X1 also offers electrical seat adjustment for both driver and passenger, and the former also gets memory function. M Sport offers Sport Seats for driver and front passenger. The rear seat backrest can be reclined for added comfort. Folding down the 40:20:40 split backrest increases boot capacity from 500 litres to 1,550 litres.
