BMW Motorrad's offering in the adventure segment, the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure is made for long rides across continents with the ability to take on any terrain when the tarmac ends. It is essentially a more capable version of the R 1200 GS and is around one inch taller, wider and longer, whereas the ground clearance is 0.5 inches higher too. The steering head angle has a one-degree difference over the standard GS, while the suspension gets 0.8 inches of additional travel. The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure also gets a taller saddle and the fuel tank capacity has increased by 10 litres in favour of a better range. Other upgrades include hand guards, crash guard and belly pan for improved protection.
Power on the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure comes from the 1170 cc flat-twin DOHC engine with one balance shaft that belts out 123 bhp at 7750 rpm and 125 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. The bike comes with 350 mm double disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear, while you also get an adjustable suspension and seat height. Standard equipment on the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure includes switchable ABS, Automatic Stability Control and Multiple Riding Modes.
