Post WWI, BMW was forced to stop producing aircraft engines. Five years later, the company started producing motorcycles and subsequently got interested in producing 4 wheelers. Indian PM Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' initiative has been taking the world by storm, and today BMW India celebrated its commitment to the initiative by increasing the level of localisation at its facility in Chennai to 50 per cent. The Master Blaster aka Sachin Tendulkar commemorated the occasion by assembling a BMW 5 Series.
Poland's Idea Bank did something that befitted their nomenclature. They used four BMW i3s and made ATMs out of them. So you don't need to go to the bank, the bank comes to you.
After a somewhat successful debut of the all-electric i3, now it's the turn of the brand-shaping i8 sports hybrid. The car aims to be green, but more importantly it wants to take pole position as BMW's newest and most compelling sports car. Yes a green supercar if you will.
The 3rd generation which made its global debut towards the end of 2013 sports the new bolder face with the kidney grille getting wider and bigger. But having said that the car doesn't look too heavy up front, because unlike the X3 where remember thinking the bumper looks too heavy, this one has been broken up a little bit.
