Post WWI, BMW was forced to stop producing aircraft engines. Five years later, the company started producing motorcycles and subsequently got interested in producing 4 wheelers. The Dixi was the first car produced by BMW and the Bavarian car manufacturer hasnt looked back. The BMW umbrella includes the likes of MINI and Rolls Royce.« Less

We'd already told you that the BMW i8 hybrid sports car will be launched in India in February this year and now the Bavarian car manufacturer has said that the car will be launched on the 18th of February.
BMW India has launched the second edition of the BMW Experience Tour in India. The experience will begin in Kolkata and will move on to cities like Raipur, Nagpur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Delhi and Lucknow.
The announcement came at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo where BMW specifically said that the i8 will be launched in India in the course of the year. Well, there is good news as the car has made its way to India and will be launched next month.
After a somewhat successful debut of the all-electric i3, now it's the turn of the brand-shaping i8 sports hybrid. The car aims to be green, but more importantly it wants to take pole position as BMW's newest and most compelling sports car. Yes a green supercar if you will.
The 3rd generation which made its global debut towards the end of 2013 sports the new bolder face with the kidney grille getting wider and bigger. But having said that the car doesn't look too heavy up front, because unlike the X3 where remember thinking the bumper looks too heavy, this one has been broken up a little bit.
