Crossing Transfagarasan Highway is surely one of the most memorable experiences for #GLAadventure. More than 150 kilometres in length, the Transfăgărășan Highway is Romania's most spectacular and best known road. Built for military purposes at the initiative of Romania's last communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu, the Transfăgărășan is a dynamite-forged road that connects two of Romania's historic provinces Transylvania (the Center) and Walachia (the South) through a series of five tunnels, 27 viaducts and 831 small bridges.
